One of art's most known art movements is Impressionism.
it's not about the how real it looks, but of what you can express throw colors, lines, and brush strokes.

his subject, lily pond, the difference, time of day he painted and weather conditions.
he's study of color in a specific time of day is incredible.

Designer loves art...6...Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale

During the Victorian/Edwardian time, you won't hear a lot of female artists.

This is Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale

Why? because at that time all females were bound to be at home, they weren't able to go into schools of any kind. and when they did they were treated unequally. and less favored by critics.
she is one of the few women that with time won over the critics and social standards.
her colors are vibrant with medieval subjects and moral thought

Designer loves art...3...Kathryn Rathke

calligraphy is a form of visual art, often called tha art of fancy lettering. it dates back from the roman alphabet, ancient china, the tibetan culture. islam and even in mayan hieroglyphys. all of this have influenced what we now know as caligraphy which its modern definition is " the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious and skillful matter".
Ilustration is sencual information such as a story in form of a drawing, painting giving a visual representation.
Combine both of them.
this is Kathryn Rathke
and you get beautiful illustrations with incredible lines

Why? Designer loves art

I have always found Art to be something important in my life. And can remember taking drawing classes, having sketch book drawing in the last page of my school notebooks since little.

Now a "recent" graduate in Industrial Design ( graduated last year), i keep looking for books, blogs, pages, museums to keep up with the subject, in all of its faces.

I also decided that I need to educate my friends and family even a little bit on the topic so this was born, hope fully I will be able to update 2 times a week. until now I already have up to 5 entries so I'll post one each day, until i update this.

If you are interested you can follow me here, twitter, or send me an e-mail to add you to the mailing list.

Designer loves art ...1...Jim Denevan

there are many kinds of art, and some we are not even able to understand, it's not always paint and paper, but sometimes its nature itself that becomes a white canvas.
I found this today,
this is Jim Denevan
Amazing what patience and vision can create ...
