how do you bring an imaginary character to life?
this is Dominique Lemieux
born in Canada, she had an inclination for drawings since she was a little girl. so she went on to study art in Montreal and then to the national theatre school of Canada to study costume design. she has been working with the Cirque du Soleil since 1988 and as costume designer in theatre productions, ballets and even for Celine Dion. what i like about her is her process to create a character. in this she takes care to make allot of research not only visual to help her create but also allot in fabric, to see how the costume will act when its worn.
