some artists are good for what they do and are looked for when alive.

British but of french descent. he became one of the most important silver-makers of his time. he was known for his innovating designs as well as his bold use of the material. he mostly worked for specific customers rather than make a piece and wait for it to be sold.

designer loves art....Rie Hosokai...125
some materials are hard to work with, but some are harder than others
this is Rie Hosokai
http://riehosokai.com/
living in Japan, she has been experimenting with balloons for some time now. her use and knowledge on them as material makes her able to even make some clothing out of them or some 3d figures. she has had some runway shows, a recent book and even an i-touch application not to mention numerous exhibitions.

designer loves art....Jörg Ruel...124
any artist can tell you, detail can make or break a piece
this is Jörg Ruel
http://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O157655/cup/
from Nürnberg, Germany he was a metalsmith, and from the little i found from him quite talented. the detail of his work is amazing. his use of material and incorporating objects such as a shell is wonderful. i believe most of his work is privately owned. if anyone finds more information about him please let me know i would like to extend this a little more.

designer loves art....Julia Barello...123
we recycle many things, but some materials go unnoticed until someone sees then in another way.
this is Julia Barello
http://www.juliabarello.com/
A teacher in the NMSU, her artwork is in a material that hasn't been used before, she is using x-ray film, she cuts it out and dyes it with colour. she likes to explore the balance between order and excess. her work comes to life with not only the transparency of the pieces but also though the shadow they leave behind.
